Halal Table is a community directory of halal restaurants, markets, bakeries and caterers, made by one developer in California. If something is wrong or you need help, email support@halaltable.app. We answer within a few days, and reports of objectionable content within 24 hours.
A listing is wrong or missing
Open the place in the app and tap Report to tell us what is wrong, or email us the name and address. To add a place that is missing, use the Add tab.
I own or manage a listed business
Email us to correct your listing, to record your certification (we will ask to see the certificate), or to remove your listing. Members' honest reviews of your business are their own and are not removed at a business's request.
How are places verified?
Every place carries one of four labels:
- Certified — a moderator has seen a certificate from a named certifying body.
- Community confirmed — at least three more members have confirmed the place is halal than have disputed it, each saying how they know (they ate there, saw a certificate, were told by staff, and so on).
- Unverified — listed, but nobody has confirmed it yet. Most listings start here.
- Disputed — members disagree about whether the place is halal.
Halal Table is not a certifier. Labels reflect documents we have been shown and what members report. Use your own judgement and ask the business when in doubt.
Someone posted something objectionable
Every review, photo, reply and confirmation note has a More actions menu — tap it to report the content, or to block the member who posted it. Blocking hides that member's reviews, photos, replies and confirmations from you right away, without notifying them. To review or undo a block, open Profile > Blocked members. We act on reports within 24 hours, remove content that breaks the rules, and suspend the accounts that post it.
Managing or cancelling Supporter
Supporter subscriptions and tips are billed by Apple. To manage or cancel a subscription, open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Support unlocks nothing functional; it only adds a badge beside your name.
Deleting my account
In the app, open Profile and choose Delete account. This removes your profile and the content you posted, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can also email us and we will delete it for you.
Privacy
See the Privacy Policy. Halal Table collects only what the app needs: your email address to sign in, the content you contribute, and your location while the app is open so it can show what is nearby. There is no advertising and no tracking.
